How to change your X or YouTube password
We've written step-by-step guides for these two platforms:
What makes a strong social media password?
- At least 12 characters, using a mix of words, numbers and symbols.
- Unique to each account. Reused passwords are one of the most common ways accounts get hacked.
- Stored in a password manager, not a spreadsheet, note or chat thread.
- Backed up by two-factor authentication, so a stolen password isn't enough on its own.
Why shared passwords put brand accounts at risk
On brand accounts, the same password is often shared between the social team, agencies and freelancers. Every new person who knows it is another way in for an attacker, and when someone leaves, the password rarely gets changed. That's why password sharing is one of the biggest risks for brand accounts.
Stop sharing passwords to your brand accounts
Spikerz lets your team access brand accounts without sharing passwords, using secure 2FA for teams and clear access management. You can remove someone's access in seconds when they leave. Book a consultation to see how it works.
